Mimicking Nature’s Design
Ten or twenty years ago, if you had several missing teeth, dentures were your only prosthetic option. Patients simply had to accept the embarrassing side effects of being a denture wearer: the embarrassment of a fake-looking smile, the discomfort when eating, the potential for dentures slipping, and the nuisance of denture care. Now, you have more options. Implant-retained dentures are permanent, and they look, feel, and function like natural teeth. You can smile and eat without fear of slippage. You can go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning with your teeth in place.
Implant Retained Dentures
These permanent dentures, both complete and partial, provide the patient with a beautiful smile, but the key to their placement is the dental implant. Implants are anchoring devices placed directly into the jawbone, and after a period of three to six months, they will permanently fuse to that bone. Dr. Sohl can secure a partial or complete denture on a few implants to create a permanent set of prosthetic teeth.
All-on-Four/Teeth in a Day
Dr. Sohl is on the forefront of implant placement. He has been named a Diamond Partner in the Nobel Biocare All-on-Four/Teeth in a Day procedure. All-on-Four/Teeth in a Day was developed to minimize the number of implants required to anchor a complete set of dentures. A full arch can be replaced with four implants in a single visit, as opposed to as many as eight implants and multiple office visits.
Zygoma Dental Implants
If you have lost jawbone density due to tooth loss you may require a bone grafting or sinus lift to quality for dental implants. However, with a zygoma implant, also known as a graftless dental implant, patients can receive new teeth without any prior grafting procedure. Instead, a series of unique implants are inserted into your cheekbones. The results include a faster healing time and placement process, allowing you to enjoy a complete smile once again.
Dr. Sohl uses the advanced i-CAT dental CT scan technology to determine placement for the All-on-Four implants. We use a quality dental lab that can deliver your temporary restorations the same day. This means that you will not have to travel to different facilities for treatment, and you can have your implants placed and restored by the same dentist, in a single visit.
What to Expect Afterwards
After placement of dental implants and the temporary denture, you can expect nearly full function, as well as a smile that looks like it has natural teeth. After the implants fuse to the jawbone, a permanent denture will be placed. No removing at night, no slippage, and no embarrassment. You will have to stop yourself from smiling after undergoing the All-on-Four/Teeth-in-a-Day procedure from Dr. Michael Sohl.
Single Implant Crowns
When a patient requires replacement of a single tooth, or a few teeth in a row, implants may be topped with individual crowns or a bridge.
